Chan Buddhism Meditation Class for Beginners
The Beginner’s meditation class, taught in the Chan (Zen) Buddhist tradition, will provide an introduction to relaxation and breathing methods to improve your focusing power. Based on the instructions by Chan Master Sheng Yen, teacher Iris Wang will explain how to use meditation to benefit your mind and body.
The class will begin with Master Sheng Yen’s Eight Form Moving Meditation followed by a lecture on basic daily meditation practice, meditation tools, postures, methods and theory behind Chan Buddhist meditation. (For a demonstration of the eight form moving meditation, watch the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yl78LH5R9k8.)
