Guo Gu (Jimmy Yu, Ph.D.)
guogu_p.jpgIn 1995, Guo Gu was given permission by Master Sheng Yen to teach (inka) Chan. He has led retreats in various parts of the United States, Europe, and Asia. He is now the guiding instructor for the Western Dharma Teachers at the Chan Meditation Center. He received his doctorate in Buddhist Studies in 2008 from Princeton University. Guo Gu is currently the resident teacher at the Tallahassee Chan Center and a professor of Buddhist Studies at the Florida State University.

  • attendance / tardiness:
    • Check-in begins at 8:00 AM on Saturday. Please arrive no later than 8:15 AM on both days.
    • Saturday attendance is required.

  • lodging:
    • Fee does not include Saturday night lodging.
    • Retreat participants are responsible for making their own lodging arrangements or return home for Saturday night.
    • There are no shower facility, bedding or blankets at the Chan Center.

    • Shoes are not allowed within the meditation center. For your comfort, we recommend clean socks and loose clothing in layers.
